First Ocean Decade International Coastal Cities Conference Unites Global Leaders for Sustainable Ocean Development

The First Ocean Decade International Coastal Cities Conference commenced on February 26 in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao, China. Themed "Better Ocean, Better City," this conference brought together nearly 400 delegates from maritime organizations, enterprises, and research institutions spanning 29 countries and regions. The primary focus was on fostering global coastal city collaboration and advancing the sustainable development of the oceans.


Dr. Chen Chong, serving as the representative of the United Nations-endorsed Global Estuaries Monitoring (GEM) Programme, participated in the conference.
